BIO: Life and history in general have been very abusive to the poor spark known as Rhinox. Following the end of the Beast Wars (and after the relative return to normalcy after Reality Warped), Rhinox survived to return to Cybertron with his fellow Maximals, victorious after taking Megatron prisoner and re-sinking the Decepticon flagship Nemesis. As the borrowed Autobot shuttle made the jump through transwarp, however, Megatron escaped and arrived a month ahead of Primal and the rest. During that time, he put a plan in motion to take over the planet, seize all the sparks of the inhabitants and completely eradicate all individualism to instill a very permanent but artificial sense of "harmony." When the Maximals and their shuttle came out of transwarp, the automated defenses of Cybertron shot them down. Megatron's drone forces took some of them prisoner, Rhinox included. Forced into the position of Vehicon General, he became Tankor, a slow but extremely aggressive tank mech who wanted nothing more than the complete annihilation of the remaining Maximals.
And while the efforts of Rattrap and Cheetor eventually managed to reawaken Rhinox's spark, Megatron's influence had corrupted him into a life bent on planetary domination. Tankor attempted to undermine Megatron as a leader and destroy both faction leaders with the Key of Vector Sigma, but the former Predacon commander discovered the truth and during a confrontation with Optimus Primal in which the Plasma Energy Chamber came into play, Tankor was destroyed. In death, Rhinox realized his terrible mistake, but he was unable to do more than admit to his sins before Primal in the Matrix before passing on.
Unfortunately, Rhinox had led too much of a split existence to pass on completely. The Well of All Sparks would not have him; his time as Tankor allowed him to commit horrible acts against his fellow Maximals and all of Cybertron. Yet his time as Rhinox during the Beast Wars kept him from eternal condemnation in the Pit. Forced to endure punishment in human guise, Rhinox wandered through the multiverse for countless solar cycles, caught in his own personal purgatory. He struggled to accept his organic form after learning to hate the natural world in the purely technological body of Tankor. Finally, after operating as a wandering warrior in service of whoever called upon his help, Rhinox was given his second chance. Primus called upon him - the reality Rhinox once knew as home had been torn apart. Time there no longer had meaning. Other realities had been drawn into the mess, forming an amalgamation of places and times that had no business being in touch with one another.
"You are needed. You have a second chance. Will you accept?"
The conditions were three fold. One, Rhinox's body as it was during the Beast Wars would be returned to him. Two, he would lose nearly all his memories of his time as a wandering human and as Tankor. Any bits and pieces that remained would be retained as visions of the future, warnings against failing to do right the second time around. And three, Rhinox would have to agree to eternal servitude to the Lord of Light and his children. In eventual death, his spark would find peace in the Well of All Sparks, but he would always be at the beck and call of Primus, to be used as a soldier from beyond the veil in all future battles against Unicron.
Rhinox agreed...and was returned to a reality long thought dead and gone. But all good things deserve a second chance.
STRENGTHS: Rhinox is often described as the last line of defense at the Axalon for a reason; when all else fails, he does not. Armed with twin Chainguns o' Doom and triple-thick armored hide, Primal's second in command and Chief Engineer is a tough Maximal to defeat. He is one of the few to ever stand toe-to-toe with Megatron and hold his own, a strong and intelligent fellow with a stubborn streak. Despite his tech-savvy talents, however, Rhinox is also a spiritually inclined admirer of the natural world and what it has to offer. Personable and charasmatic among friends, he makes for a good and dependable ally. Unyielding and belligerent towards enemies, he is nothing short of an unforgiving wall most would rather go around than through.
WEAKNESSES: Megatron discovered the hard way during the Beast Wars that Rhinox is better left as a daisy sniffing techno-hippy as opposed to being forcefully converted into a Predacon. As it turned out, Rhinox's cunning and ambition are only held in check by his moral standing. He possesses a temper and a stubborn streak that make him hard to deal with when he loses his cool. He is not a Maximal who takes attitude easily and sometimes needs to be talked down out of a rage when frustrated to breaking point. He also has a tendency to be borderline obsessive and single-minded, stubborn as a real rhino when he gets an idea in his central processor. Slower than most of the other Maximals and lacking agility, Rhinox is also not the one you want to call when land speed is critical to your plans.
FREE SPACE: "Power in defense of freedom will always triumph over power used for evil."
